HEAVY DIESEL MECHANICS and DIESEL FITTERS

BDS Mechanical PTY LTD is currently on the lookout for Diesel Mechanics and Diesel Fitters to join our team. All of our positions are full time or casual and include Local, DIDO and FIFO opportunities with various rosters to suit your lifestyle.

BDS Mechanical Repairs is a privately owned and growing business, offering comprehensive mechanical, auto electrical, and welding services—both in our workshops and on-site. With 22 permanent workshop locations across Queensland and a fleet of more than 160 field service units, we cover over 600,000 km² throughout Queensland and Western Australia. No matter where you are, BDS is always within reach.

Your duties will include:

  • Diesel engine diagnostics & repair, major and minor rebuilds
  • General Repairs/maintenance works – Trucks & Trailers/4×4's
  • Replacing vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions and braking systems
  • Earthmoving and mobile plant experience a bonus
  • Checking vehicle lighting systems
  • Test driving vehicles to gauge performance
  • Maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles
  • Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist

The successful candidates will possess the following:

  • Relevant Trade Qualification
  • Valid license
  • Diagnostic experience
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong fault finding skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Extra skills, experience, tickets and licences will be advantageous
