Job Title: Mechanical Fitter

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting maintenance, repair and installation of mechanical and hydraulic systems on the offshore barge.

The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and diesel engine issues. They will also be able to implement effective solutions to ensure optimal performance of equipment.

In addition, the Mechanical Fitter will perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on hydraulic and diesel systems. They will identify and address potential issues before they lead to downtime.

The role involves collaborating with the maintenance team to develop and implement maintenance schedules. Ensuring all mechanical and hydraulic systems are operating efficiently is crucial to the success of this position.

A key aspect of the job is maintaining accurate records of maintenance and repair work. This includes parts usage, equipment history and maintenance logs.

The successful candidate will adhere to all safety protocols and regulations. They will participate in safety meetings and training programs to promote a safety-conscious work environment.

Furthermore, the Mechanical Fitter will assist in the procurement of spare parts and equipment required for maintenance and repair activities. They will ensure inventory levels are maintained as per operational requirements.

Required Skills:
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience in the maintenance and repair of mechanical and hydraulic systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and diesel engine issues
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
