    • Facilitate timely admission and manage patient access to appropriate areas based on risk stratification and acuity
  • Education and Development
    • Supervise the education of graduate nurses, registered and enrolled nurses, and postgraduate nurses in cardiac and cardiothoracic nursing
  • Quality and Safety
    • Ensure the delivery of safe, effective, direct and indirect patient-centered care throughout the continuum of care
    • Comprehensive understanding of Australian Clinical Health Standards and quality improvement activities
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Develop strong collaborative relationships with Visiting Medical Officers, Cardiologists, Cardiothoracic Surgeons, Intensivists, and Emergency Department Physicians
  • Financial Acumen
    • Ensure bed utilization and length of stay management
    • Efficient labor management and supply management
Requirements
  • Bachelor degree in nursing
  • Well-refined leadership skills and effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Postgraduate qualification in critical care or cardiac care
  • Previous comprehensive senior management experience within an acute hospital environment
  • Proven experience in managing KPI datasets, including monitoring of activity targets, length of stay management, and human resource management
  • Core knowledge of ACHS national standards and implementation and monitoring of quality activities to support these standards
