Aboriginal Culture Specialist

The Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency supports and advocates for the Aboriginal community. We ensure the rights and best interests of Aboriginal children who have come to the attention of child protection are upheld.
This role works in partnership with child protection to consider an Aboriginal perspective in assessments, placement planning, and decision-making about the child. You will participate in case planning, respond to allegations of abuse and neglect, and provide advice to child protection staff.
We are seeking a professional who is passionate about working with Aboriginal families and has a strong understanding of Aboriginal culture and values. The successful candidate will have experience working in community services, a Diploma in Community Services Work or similar discipline, and the ability to share their knowledge with child protection and other services.

- Understanding of issues impacting Aboriginal families
- Ability to work closely with child protection and other services
