The Aboriginal Support Specialist role is a critical position that manages referrals, conducts assessments, and responds to the immediate needs of Aboriginal clients seeking support through the Orange Door Hub. This specialist delivers culturally safe, high-quality support to Aboriginal women, children, men, and families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage referrals and conduct assessments for Aboriginal clients
- Respond to immediate needs of clients and provide short-term assistance
- Connect clients with appropriate services for ongoing support
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver culturally safe support
- Foster cultural safety, respect self-determination, and ensure responsive service coordination
Requirements:
- Degree in social work or equivalent, or significant lived experience relevant to the work
- Minimum two years' experience in the Family Violence sector
- Valid Police Check, Working with Children's Check, and Victorian Driver Licence
- Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended)
