Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Loan Officer Assistant to join our team at New American Funding. As a Loan Officer Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting our loan origination staff by providing exceptional customer service, processing loan transactions, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Communication: Communicate with customers, real estate agents, and escrows to gather necessary documentation and provide updates on loan transactions.
  • Loan Processing: Assist loan originators with preapprovals, loan structuring, and pricing options, while managing lock expiration dates.
  • Documentation Management: Collect and verify customer documentation, including income statements, asset statements, and initial disclosures.
  • Loan Origination Support: Provide administrative support to loan originators, including ordering standard loan requirements and verifications.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of loan transactions, including customer information and loan status.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Two or more years of experience in mortgage operations, underwriting, or processing.
  • Skills: Proficient in Encompass, knowledge of FHA, VA, Conventional, and other loan programs, ability to analyze tax returns and calculate income, and strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Language Skills: Bilingual Spanish a plus.
  • Software Skills: Proficient in Encompass and other mortgage industry software.
  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, and other refinance and purchase loan programs and mortgage insurance guidelines.
