About You and the Role

This Rail Engineering Validation Specialist role plays a crucial part in our Rail Engineering & Integration team. Key responsibilities include managing validation activities throughout the project lifecycle, analysing project requirements, proposing validation methods, providing guidance on integrating processes and data from multiple disciplines, and ensuring correct delivery of validation artefacts.

This position can be based in Sydney or Brisbane.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage validation activities across the entire project lifecycle.
  • Review and provide input for management plans and technical processes related to validation.
  • Guide validation activities in various design disciplines/subsystems and support teams to ensure correct delivery of validation artefacts.
  • Participate in system-level validation activities supporting the system integration, testing, and commissioning team on various tasks.
  • Assist with establishing standards for conducting technical reviews, inspections, testing, audits, and handling deviations and waivers.
  • Help identify and manage risks and opportunities in planning and performance of validation activities.
  • Ensure traceability of validation activities and their results to relevant requirements, including related standards.
  • Update the Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM) and Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM) as input to Stage Gate Reviews.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering, Science, Building Construction, or equivalent degree.
  • Previous experience in a similar role in Rail projects.
  • Prior experience in validation methodologies, tools, techniques, FRACAS/Defect Management Systems, and V&V tracking in Requirement Management Systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
