Insurance Operations Specialist Job Description

This is a senior-level contract position responsible for managing complex insurance enquiries and escalations, reviewing and updating business rules, identifying opportunities for process improvements, and supporting implementation of product and pricing changes.

The successful candidate will have at least five years' experience in an insurance role, preferably with superannuation or insurance administration background. They must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to proofread, spelling & English grammar skills essential. A well-developed sense of initiative, diligence, efficiency, accuracy, and attention to detail are also required.

The Insurance Operations Specialist will work closely with the Insurance Operations Manager to provide sound investigation, ownership, and decision-making skills across various areas. They will manage the insurance operations inbox, review and update business rules, identify and communicate opportunities for process improvements, and assist with insurance-related breaches and incidents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage complex insurance enquiries and escalations through management of the insurance operations inbox.
  • Review and update of insurance business rules.
  • Identify, communicate, and assist to implement opportunities for process improvements.
  • Support implementation of product and pricing changes.
  • Assist with insurance related breaches and incidents.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • At least five years' experience in an insurance role.
  • Superannuation or insurance administration is desired.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to proofread, spelling & English grammar skills essential.
  • Well-developed sense of initiative.
  • Able to work diligently, efficiently, and with accuracy paying close attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage the range of tasks required of this position.
  • An excellent working knowledge of/experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Outlook.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills which foster cooperation and teamwork in a close team environment.
