Job Title: Student Development Specialist
Overview of the RoleAs a Student Development Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the personal and social growth of students, as well as supporting their mental health and wellbeing.
The primary focus of this position is on providing guidance and support to students who may be vulnerable or at risk. You will work closely with the school's pastoral team to develop and implement strategies that promote student welfare and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized counseling services to students requiring support;
- Act as a liaison between students, parents, and external specialists in the area of health and wellbeing;
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to provide advice and support in promoting student development, mental health, and wellbeing;
- Work with the school's student development team to design and deliver programs aimed at enhancing student welfare and pastoral care;
- Contribute to the development of school policies and strategic planning initiatives related to child safety;
- Ensure compliance with Mandatory Reporting requirements and maintain the highest standards of care, safety, and wellbeing for our students.
This role requires an individual with exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, who can operate effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team. A Bachelor-level qualification in Social Work, Counselling, or Psychology, with eligibility for membership of the relevant professional body, is essential.
