
Transformative Wellbeing Leader

CQUniversity seeks an exceptional leader to champion student wellbeing and drive transformative change across the institution. As our Chief Wellbeing Officer, you will provide strategic leadership for mental health, safety, disability, and inclusion, positioning CQUniversity as a national leader in student support and community care.
This executive role is critical to delivering an integrated approach to wellbeing, where services such as counselling, accessibility, safer communities, and chaplaincy are aligned under a shared mission of empowerment and equity.
Main Responsibilities:- You will require expert knowledge of wellbeing issues relating to university students, including evidence-based and trauma-informed clinical practice, equity, and inclusion, psychosocial safety, psychosocial practice models, and systemic work practices.
- A detailed understanding of frameworks and strategies for health promotion, prevention, and wellbeing related to university issues and responsive to drivers affecting student performance, engagement, and retention is required.
- The ideal candidate must hold postgraduate qualifications or equivalent in a relevant area (psychology or an area relevant to mental health), registration or eligibility for registration with an appropriate professional association, and extensive relevant experience.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A strong background in wellbeing and mental health, with expertise in trauma-informed practice and psychosocial safety.
- Experience in developing and implementing wellbeing strategies that promote student success and equity.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
