System Support Professional

The ICT Centre Technical Specialist provides high-level technical support, manages technical escalation from the centre's support partners, creates and maintains technical documentation, maintains hardware and software assets, and participates in projects as required.

This critical role is the primary escalation point for ICT's technical staff, requiring a customer service first perspective to ensure success.

  • Identify and implement best practice IT standards to all operational activities.
  • Help develop technology strategies to simplify, speed up, and make business systems and processes smarter.
  • Investigate, identify, and troubleshoot all IT incidents and problems.
  • Handle technical service requests, proactively escalate and manage critical outages and security incidents.
  • Support, configure, and administer IT services and technologies, with a focus on automation using scripting solutions.
  • Produce and maintain quality technical documentation, create user accounts, and respond to technical communications requests.
  • Identify and solve problems, provide mentoring and training within the team, and deliver ad-hoc project tasks when required.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements:

  • Hold a degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years' experience in technical support roles.

Preferred Technologies:

  • Dell, Apple, Microsoft, and Android hardware.
  • Microsoft Azure/Windows Server Operations.
  • Scripting, VB Script.
  • Desktop and server patch management and upgrades.
  • SCCM and SCEP deployment and management of endpoint clients.
