Department: The State of Queensland

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director to lead our Disability and Seniors Services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to improve the lives of people with disabilities, seniors, and carers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to improve the lives of people with disabilities, seniors, and carers.
  • Leadership: Provide high-level leadership and advice to departmental senior executives, including the Deputy Director-General, Executive Directors, and Director-General.
  • Program Management: Manage a range of programs and services to support people with disabilities, seniors, and carers.
  • Business Development: Develop and implement business plans to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our services.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including advocacy groups, industry peak bodies, and service providers.
  • Project Management: Manage complex projects to improve the lives of people with disabilities, seniors, and carers.
  • Culture and Values: Contribute to building and maintaining a culture that supports the vision and values of the department.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in a field such as social work, disability studies, or business administration.
  • Experience: Significant experience in a leadership role, preferably in a government or non-profit organization.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
