As a key member of the NETS Medical Retrievals team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to critically ill newborns and children across New South Wales.

The role requires exceptional clinical expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations.

You will collaborate with specialists from referral hospitals and specialty units to triage cases and provide coordinated care to patients in need.

A key aspect of this role is the coordination of acute clinical calls, including consultation, transfer by local or regional teams, or retrieval by a NETS team or other appropriate neonatal or paediatric retrieval team.

You will also contribute to education, research, and quality improvement activities, ensuring that best practices are implemented across the critical care patient journey.

This position offers an opportunity to work collaboratively with clinicians in referring and referral hospitals, using your expertise to drive positive outcomes for patients and their families.

To be successful in this role, you will possess relevant specialist paediatric qualification FRACP (Paediatrics) or CICM (Paediatrics), PEM, FANZCA (paediatrics) or equivalent, as well as experience in neonatal and/or paediatric critical care.

You will also have experience in medical retrieval of newborns and/or children, as well as demonstrated expertise with inter-personal communication and negotiation.

The ideal candidate will be available to participate in an on-call roster and respond on site within a reasonable time.
