Project Manager - QLD Role at AECOM Australia Pty Ltd

Australia's leading infrastructure consulting firm, AECOM, is seeking a dedicated Associate Director to join their Project and Programme Management team in Townsville. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership potential who can support the program management team, manage projects, and help grow the regional Queensland capability.

The successful candidate will ensure construction projects are delivered to approved designs and specifications, with a strong focus on safety. Relocation within Australia is available to support this opportunity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead projects and act as 2IC to the NQNT program management team, supporting project delivery.
  • Support client-facing activities and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Mentor and develop team members, building capability within the business.
  • Support design reviews, constructability assessments, and claims/assessments.
  • Contribute to business growth through work-winning initiatives and program development.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (RPEQ required or eligible to obtain).
  • At least 15 years' experience delivering major civil infrastructure projects, ideally with exposure to TMR/Main Roads or equivalent authorities such as VicRoads/DTP.
  • Strong project leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Generalist mindset with exposure to multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Leadership aspirations and ability to support program delivery across complex projects.
