Lead Disability Support Worker

This is an opportunity to join a dynamic team and make a real difference in the lives of our customers. As a Lead Disability Support Worker, you will play a key role in providing high-quality support and leadership to our team.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of individualised supports within supported independent living accommodation settings. This includes strengthening the knowledge and abilities of our Support Worker team to ensure a person-centered and high-quality culture within the program.

You will provide direct support and lead your team across a range of customer needs, including domestic and personal care assistance, as well as assisting our customers to access and have a positive connection to the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and mentoring to a team of Disability Support Workers
  • Oversee the implementation of individualised supports within supported independent living accommodation settings
  • Strengthen the knowledge and abilities of our Support Worker team
  • Assist customers with daily living tasks, such as domestic and personal care
  • Support customers to access and participate in their local community

Requirements:

  • Cert 4 or higher in a related field
  • Demonstrated leadership/management experience
  • Ability and willingness to work shift work, regular sleepovers/active nights, weekends and public/school holidays
  • Resilience, confidence and ability to work independently and as a team
  • Strong communication skills
