About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced hospitality professional to join our team as a Functions Manager at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional food and beverage services to our clients and guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial and Operational Management: Achieve financial and operational targets while maintaining optimal client relationships.
  • Food and Beverage Service Delivery: Deliver high-quality food and beverage services while ensuring the profitable execution of all corporate functions.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of hospitality professionals, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement effective forward planning to ensure all functions meet guest needs to a high standard within budget.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the Corporate F&B Manager to develop and implement strategies for function delivery, and collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery.

Requirements

  • Leadership Experience: Proven leadership experience in large multi-function venues, with a strong track record of achieving financial and operational targets.
  • Financial Management: Experience managing large P&L budgets, with a strong understanding of financial management principles.
  • Team Management: Strong experience in leading large teams, with a focus on developing and implementing effective people practices.
  • Client Relationship Building: Demonstrated experience building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, with a focus on delivering exceptional service and meeting client needs.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically, with a focus on developing and implementing effective forward planning and business development strategies.
