Job Description

As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in leading the financial strategy of the department to ensure long-term sustainability, agility and alignment with strategic priorities.

You will provide authoritative financial advice to senior leaders, supporting evidence-based decision-making and strategic resource allocation.

Additionally, you will oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and the financial compliance framework, ensuring that all financial operations are transparent and measurable.

With a focus on driving financial reform and capability uplift across the department, you will embed best practice and foster a culture of accountability and innovation.

Furthermore, you will partner with senior leaders and operational teams to align financial planning with departmental outcomes, enabling responsive and resilient service delivery.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience using financial information to identify organisational impacts and risks
  • Demonstrated experience in financial management and governance
  • Strong judgement, initiative and professionalism
  • A Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) qualification is highly desirable
