The role of Sustainability Manager is to develop and manage sustainability and environmental initiatives in close consultation with leadership and project teams. The key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and managing sustainability and environmental strategies, action plans, policies, and training.
  • Advising on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and environmental regulatory compliance to ensure sustainability objectives are met nationally.
  • Managing collection, analysis, and reporting of sustainability data across our construction operations for reporting purposes.
  • Monitoring and reporting on key sustainability and environmental performance objectives for managing project risk and supporting continuous improvement towards sustainability goals.
  • Managing external relationships with relevant sustainability industry bodies and intermediaries.
  • Embedding sustainability and environmental requirements into design and procurement processes.
  • Coordinating and managing external sustainability consultants.

Responsibilities also include maintaining a high level of understanding of Federal, State, and local environmental statutes and legislation, as well as possessing strong written and verbal communication skills for effective stakeholder management.

">Qualifications and Experience">

The successful candidate will require the following qualifications and experience:

  • A tertiary qualification in Environmental Engineering, Science, Sustainability, or other associated disciplines.
  • Specialist environmental and sustainability experience within the Construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles and practices.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills for effective internal and external stakeholder management.
  • Ability to travel interstate where required.
