The leading infrastructure recruitment specialists are seeking a Mechanical Supervisor to join a global leader in the infrastructure sector for one of Australia's technical infrastructure projects.
This is a great opportunity to work on a significant infrastructure project, working alongside experienced specialists to develop your career and gain expertise in mechanical operations, maintenance, and planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing daily mechanical running, operation, and maintenance of Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs) and associated mechanical equipment.
- Organising and planning work for future mechanical operations, including managing plan maintenance for all mechanical equipment on site.
- Developing specifications for production and determining materials, equipment, material flows, and layout of plant and systems.
- Liaising with Mechanical Managers for all TBM, conveyor, gantry crane, and associated equipment assembly/installation/dismantling, commissioning, and testing works.
- Carrying out daily plant inspections, completing and submitting maintenance/breakdown reports.
- Liaising with TBM Electrical teams for planning ongoing and future works.
- Supervising and providing support to Mechanics on shift for troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.
- Ensuring Method Statements and Risk Assessments are in place for ongoing and future mechanical works.
- Inspecting and auditing the plant to ensure optimum performance is maintained in accordance with Australian Standards.
- Responsible for accurate and effective shift handovers as required.
The infrastructure project is based in Cooma, Australia, and consists of the construction of several tunnels, hydroelectric plants, and pumping facilities. The project has just started and is estimated to last for at least 4 years.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will require:
- Trade or qualification in Mechanical Engineering/Civil Engineering.
- White Card.
- Driving License.
- Extensive experience in civil or tunnelling construction, typically 5+ years of experience in a supervisory role.
- Experience in basic use of Microsoft Office Suite, data and file recording.
- Minimum 5 years' experience working on TBM projects.
- Experience on major infrastructure construction operations of similar scale with a proven ability to operate in a dynamic environment and meet significant program hurdles.
- Experience in Safety, Community, and Environmental Management.
- Experience in Quality Management.
- Experience in Planning & Resourcing.
