Mechanical Technician Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our team. In this role, you will support the Assembly and Testing department in various activities.

About the Job

As a Mechanical Technician at our organization, you will be responsible for standard and custom product repairs, new builds, and overhauls, as well as maintenance and service of test equipment on site.

Main Responsibilities
  • Work with the Production Manager to coordinate and balance workload of the A&T team
  • Ensure parts and consumables are purchased to enable efficient workshop operations
  • Manage the daily schedule to meet QDSC standards (Quality, Delivery, Service, Cost)
  • Drive Lean/5S practices within the A&T team, lead performance improvement projects, and reduce waste
  • Lead the A&E team with detailed documentation
Requirements
  • Australian Citizen with or ability to obtain national security clearance
  • Associate Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical or Mechatronics)
  • Experience with electro-mechanical actuators is advantageous
  • Six Sigma Green belt (advantageous not essential)
  • Certificate IV in Manufacturing Technology, Automation and Control or similar
  • Certificate IV in Leadership and Management/Frontline Management or similar
  • Demonstrable experience with documentation aptitude and diligence
  • Lean green belt or be in the process of completion.
  • 3-5 years industry and proven leadership experience
  • Intermediate to Advanced MS Office Suite, data entry, and ERP skills
