The Aboriginal Casework Manager role is a challenging yet rewarding position that involves leading and supervising a team of Aboriginal caseworkers in improving family functioning.

About the Position

This role requires collaboration with stakeholders to provide services to vulnerable children, young people, and families. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to provide an Aboriginal perspective and advocate on behalf of Aboriginal people in local communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise a team of Aboriginal caseworkers in varied and possibly challenging circumstances.
  • Improve outcomes for vulnerable Aboriginal children and their families using evidence-based practices and tools.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with partner agencies to support and strengthen families and cultural connections.
  • Apply cultural knowledge to inform and shape service delivery.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in leading and managing a team.
  • Demonstrated understanding of setting up new processes and systems.
  • Confirmation of Aboriginality.
  • Ability to develop knowledge and links within local communities.
  • Valid driver's licence.
