Job Title: Compliance and Industrial Relations Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance and Industrial Relations Manager to join our team at the Reserve Bank of Australia. As a key member of our Employee Relations and Compliance team, you will play a vital role in fostering a positive work environment and minimizing legal risks associated with employee and industrial relations matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compliance Matters: Provide advice on compliance matters, including wage compliance reviews and activities arising from recent legislative changes. Support the review, streamlining, and simplification of existing arrangements under policies, contracts, and industrial instruments.
  • Training and Development: Train and update key stakeholders on compliance issues and process changes.
  • Compliance Gaps and Risks: Review and assess compliance gaps, risks, and improvement initiatives. Lead related projects with stakeholder collaboration.
  • Employee Matters and Legislative Requirements: Interpret and provide guidance on employee matters and legislative requirements.
  • Industrial Relations Strategy: Develop and implement industrial relations strategy and carriage of enterprise agreement negotiations.

Requirements:

  • Legal Qualifications: Legal qualifications and employment law experience (preferably in-house) will be highly regarded.
  • Employee Relations Experience: Employee relations experience.
  • Industrial Relations Experience: Industrial relations experience will be highly regarded.
  • Regulated Environment: Experience in a regulated, financial, or legal organization preferred.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of relevant workplace legislation, regulations, and enterprise bargaining. Ability to work on all aspects of the role (including getting involved in the detail). Ability to communicate with stakeholders at different levels. Excellent written and oral communication skills.

About the Team:

You will be part of a small specialist team providing a significant positive impact for the Bank. You will be led by two Heads of Employee Relations with a strategic focus. They will work closely to support you in your role where needed.

You will also be part of an engaging and collaborative Human Resources team, a group of specialists in their own areas of expertise with a similar goal to deliver the best outcomes for the Bank.
