Job Summary:We are seeking a Senior Manager to join our Enterprise and Operational Risk team in Sydney. This role will be responsible for designing, embedding, and enhancing operational risk frameworks, standards, policies, and tools for a portfolio of non-financial operational risks and sub-risks.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform governance and oversight activities over specified operational risk frameworks across Australia and New Zealand.
- Identify, design, implement, and maintain enhancements to the risk management framework in line with the global framework and local regulatory expectations and requirements.
- Ensure requirements of APRA's CPS-230 Operational Risk Management are considered and incorporated where needed.
- Support reporting by undertaking analysis and providing insights to senior management and risk management committees/business approval review committee.
- Represent 2nd line and provide technical and specialized advice on operational risk matters, primarily related to change, product, and execution risks.
- Lead and support activities related to the risk management cycle, including risk identification, assessment, response, monitoring, reporting, finding, and incident management.
- Provide 2nd line oversight as to the effectiveness of frameworks, risk, and control measures.
- Monitor the status of risk mitigation actions and report on overdue actions.
- 8-10 years' work experience with at least 3 years in the financial sector in operational risk management.
- Prior experience and knowledge in risk in change frameworks.
- A thorough understanding of operational risk management within the financial services industry and related regulatory standards.
- A thorough knowledge of causes, influences, and drivers of operational risk risk taxonomies.
- A self-starter with the ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
- Excellent attention to detail, demonstrable analytical skills, and a high level of discretion.
- Sound relationship management skills.
- An ability to manage stakeholder groups across all 3 lines of defense and to drive change successfully.
