Operational Risk Frameworks Change Manager

The Enterprise and Operational Risk team is a dynamic and high-performing unit within the bank's Risk function. We are currently seeking a Senior Manager, Operational Risk Frameworks Change, Product & Execution Risk, to join our Sydney office. This is a newly created ANZ regional role, ideal for a senior operational risk practitioner with expertise in Risk in Change.
Key Responsibilities- Design, embed, and enhance Operational Risk frameworks, standards, policies, and tools for a portfolio of non-financial operational risks and sub-risks, including Change, Product, and Execution related risks across Australia and New Zealand.
- Provide operational risk insights, specialist advice, and independent challenge to support the development and implementation of relevant policies, standards, procedures, and tools.
- Perform governance and oversight activities over specified Operational Risk Frameworks across Australia and New Zealand, ensuring compliance with global and local regulatory expectations and requirements.
- Support reporting by undertaking analysis and providing insights to senior management and Risk Management Committees/Business Approval Review Committee.
- Represent 2nd line and provide technical and specialized advice on operational risk matters, primarily related to Change, Product, and Execution Risks, ensuring processes, tools, controls, and governance are robust and efficient.
- Lead and support activities related to the risk management cycle, including risk identification, assessment, response, monitoring, reporting, finding, and incident management.
- Provide 2nd Line oversight on the effectiveness of frameworks, risk, and control measures.
- Monitor the status of risk mitigation actions and report on overdue actions.
- 8-10 years of work experience, with at least 3 years in the financial sector in Operational Risk Management.
- Prior experience and knowledge in Risk In Change Frameworks.
- A thorough understanding of Operational Risk Management within the financial services industry and related regulatory standards (Basel II and APRA Prudential Standards, including CPS-230 Operational Risk Management).
- A thorough knowledge of causes, influences, and drivers of Operational Risk Risk Taxonomies.
- A self-starter with the ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
- Excellent attention to detail, demonstrable analytical skills, and a high level of discretion.
- Sound relationship management skills.
- An ability to manage stakeholder groups across all 3 Lines of Defence and to drive change successfully.
