Job Description

Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist and Data Manager to join our team at the Health Services Research Association of Australia & New Zealand. As a key member of our Applied Statistics in Health team, you will be responsible for leading the ePPOC data team and managing, analyzing, and reporting on a large Australasian chronic pain outcomes dataset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the ePPOC data team in maintaining and developing the ePPOC dataset and outputs through quality improvement, methodological innovation, and technological change.
  • Manage and analyze large datasets using SAS and R, with a strong focus on data quality and integrity.
  • Develop and implement automated workflows to integrate statistical results into other environments.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business needs and develop data-driven solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in data management and analysis.

Requirements

  • Relevant degree with a strong mathematical/statistical component, preferably at postgraduate level.
  • Demonstrated experience in data management, project management, and data analysis and modeling with large datasets.
  • Proficiency in SAS and R, with a willingness to further develop skills in the other.
  • Experience with automated workflows and a broad understanding of the Australian and/or New Zealand healthcare system.
