The role of a Payroll Officer is pivotal in ensuring timely, accurate and compliant payroll processing for our employees across Australia and New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities
  • Weekly and fortnightly payroll processing using Micropay and ConnX requires meticulous attention to detail and adherence to legislative requirements.
  • Accurate employee records must be maintained, and new starters onboarded efficiently.
  • Professionalism and a customer-first mindset are essential when managing payroll queries via email and phone.
  • Compliance with internal controls, Australian taxation, superannuation and Fair Work legislation is paramount.
  • Collaboration with the People & Culture team on terminations, leave liabilities and reporting is crucial.
  • Supporting audits and handling administrative tasks such as child support deductions and workers compensation reimbursements is an important aspect of the role.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in Australian payroll, combined with strong knowledge of income tax and payroll legislation, is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Micropay and ConnX is advantageous.
  • Interpreting awards or enterprise agreements, particularly in hospitality or transport, will enhance your chances.
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel), high attention to detail and a solutions-focused mindset are essential.
  • Excellent time management, communication skills and a commitment to customer service are vital.
  • The ability to work independently while thriving in a team environment is a key requirement.
