
Animal Care Team Manager

Our organization is seeking a dedicated leader to head our customer care team. As the Team Leader, you will oversee the daily operations and ensure that customers receive high-quality service.
This is a permanent full-time opportunity available at our facility. You will be responsible for managing staff and volunteers to achieve our mission of ending cruelty to animals.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and developing a team of staff and volunteers to provide exceptional customer service.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of strategies to improve animal welfare outcomes.
- Collaborating with other departments to achieve organizational goals.
- Overseeing customer care operations and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
- Providing support and guidance to team members.
- Managing customer complaints and resolving issues effectively.
- Preparing and managing team rosters and budgets.
You will also have the opportunity to contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Previous experience in a people leadership role;
- Previous experience in an animal care or customer service role, including knowledge of animal anatomy, behavior, disease recognition and safe handling;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging work environment, while showing great care and compassion to the animals in our shelter and members of the public;
- Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in a team environment;
A Certificate II in Animal Studies or Customer Service (or equivalent) is highly regarded, however not essential.
