Animal Care Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated Animal Care Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing top-notch care and attention to animals in our facility.

As an Animal Care Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering exceptional animal care, including feeding, exercising, socializing, cleaning, behavior modification, and enrichment for dogs, cats, and other small animals.
  • Collaborating with the team to maintain a smooth and efficient work environment.
  • Supporting the adoption process by assisting with foster care and introducing animals to potential adopters.
  • Providing guidance and support to volunteers in all aspects of animal care.
  • Assisting with animal handling during veterinary examinations and procedures.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Certificate II in Animal Care or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent animal handling skills and a genuine interest in animal behavior.
  • Empathy and compassion for humans and animals in need.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to communicate clearly and respectfully.
