Job Overview

The role of Animal Care Associate is pivotal in ensuring the welfare and well-being of animals within our shelter.

This position requires an individual with a genuine passion for animal care and welfare, who can provide daily support to our team in maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment for the animals.

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Animal Care Associate to join our team, providing exceptional care and attention to detail in all aspects of animal management.

  • Contribute to the daily care and management of animals in a professional and caring manner, including transporting animals as required.
  • Observe, document, and report health and behaviour concerns of animals in care, and support Veterinarians when required.
  • Provide excellent customer service to clients in the adoption, surrender, and reclaiming of animals.

This is a permanent part-time position working 32.5 hours per fortnight as per a rostering arrangement. This position requires weekend work on a rotating roster.

Key Responsibilities:

Daily Operations: Assist in the daily care and management of animals, including feeding, cleaning, and providing fresh water.

Animal Handling: Handle animals safely and humanely, adhering to our shelter's protocols and procedures.

Health Monitoring: Monitor the health and wellbeing of animals in our care, reporting any concerns to Veterinarians or senior staff members.

Customer Service: Provide outstanding customer service to clients, responding to their needs and queries in a professional and courteous manner.

  • Able to lift 25kg and stand for long periods.
