Job Overview

The Lead Evaluation and Learning specialist plays a pivotal role in driving strategic change by embedding reflective practice, translating insights into impactful strategies, and fostering evidence-informed decision-making.

This key position oversees the development of organisational learning processes, facilitates reflection and evaluation activities, and manages critical reporting functions. The work will amplify community voices, build sector capacity, and demonstrate the value of place-based and people-centred approaches.

Key Responsibilities
  • Bolster the organisation's evaluation capability to understand and embed learnings from across the organisation.
  • Design and facilitate reflection sessions, learning circles, and reviews that transform experiences and feedback into actionable insights.
  • Lead organisational learning processes to explore critical questions about effectiveness and identify where efforts should be focused for maximum impact.
  • Create data visualisations and automated reports that bring the organisation's impact to life.
  • Coordinate mixed method data collection activities and create simple tools for colleagues to participate in evaluation processes.
  • Nurture positive relationships with stakeholders, including community members, partners, funders, creatives, and suppliers.
Requirements
  • A strong proficiency in developing data visualisations and experience developing dashboards and automated reports that communicate impact clearly.
  • Passion for using data and evidence to advance social change and believe evaluation should empower communities and strengthen the work of those closest to it.
  • Experience in reporting, organisational learning, or similar roles with both technical and stakeholder-centric responsibilities.
  • A confident facilitator who can lead reflective learning sessions, translate data into meaningful insights, and support evidence-informed decision-making.
  • Ability to translate data and information into accessible insights for diverse stakeholders, balancing strategic storytelling with transparency.
  • Experience working with external evaluators and understanding how to coordinate data collection, support process design, and manage relationships effectively.
  • Comfortable in a start-up environment with a proactive and adaptable approach.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the organisation's vision, values, and principles, particularly around community leadership and shared decision-making.
