Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Clinician to join our team in Mackay. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting evidence-based clinical practice and supporting team members in the clinical decision-making process.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with young people and their families, providing psychological interventions and clinical assessments to support mental health and wellbeing.

About the Role

The Mental Health Clinician will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality services to clients. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing psychological interventions and clinical assessments to young people presenting with low-moderate mental health concerns
  • Determining the appropriate clinical pathway for young people who access the service, in collaboration with the Clinical Lead and Centre Manager
  • Supporting team members in the clinical decision-making process and promoting evidence-based practice
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Qualifications in professional counselling or a social work or psychology discipline
  • Minimum 2 years' experience working as a qualified mental health professional
  • Experience and solid knowledge of the National Standards for Mental Health Services and ability to support new graduate practitioners towards independent mental health practice
  • Knowledge of and experience working within the Family Systems Theory, Trauma Informed Care and delivery of systemically informed care to young people and their families
