Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Drill & Blast Supervisor to lead and mentor teams effectively in driving performance outcomes. Located near Southern Cross, this role is offered on a FIFO 8/6 roster from Perth or a DIDO roster from surrounding towns.

  • Effective utilisation of personnel and equipment to meet production plans and targets.
  • Communicate drill and blast requirements at pre-start meetings.
  • Coordinate work-crew responsibilities, ensuring employees are aware of changes and are competent to carry out tasks.
  • Ensure all employees understand and comply with Health, Safety and Environmental procedures.
  • Provide technical advice/ expertise on Drill & Blast operations and deliver training and guidance to personnel as required.
  • Carry out blast notifications and clearances.
  • Monitor shift performance to ensure drill and blast targets are met and take appropriate action to maintain targets.
  • Report significant deviations from drilling and blasting plans to the Project Manager in writing on the shift report.
  • Ensure the transport of blasting materials is conducted in accordance with statutory regulations in a purpose-designed vehicle.
  • Carry out accident/incident investigations as required.
  • Liaise with the Workshop Manager to plan scheduled maintenance activities.
  • Undertake scheduled audits and inspections of magazines and facilities.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Unrestricted shotfirers ticket.
  • A demonstrated track record of fostering safety in the workplace.
  • Proven experience as a Drill & Blast Supervisor, leading and mentoring teams effectively to drive performance outcomes.
  • Extensive experience in open pit mining within a Nickel, Copper, Gold, Lithium or Iron ore background is highly regarded.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build relationships across the team and departments.
