We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Development Manager for Events to join our Commercial team. This role will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive sales strategy to attract a diverse range of clients for venue hire at Caulfield and Sandown Racecourses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to drive revenue growth and expand our non-race day portfolio
  • Conduct high-level sales presentations, negotiations, and contract discussions with potential clients
  • Monitor sales performance, analyze data, and provide regular reports to management on sales activities, revenue forecasts, and market trends
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to capitalize on emerging markets and trends
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, fostering long-term partnerships and ensuring high client satisfaction
  • Lead and motivate a sales team, providing guidance, coaching, and training to enhance their sales skills and performance

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience working in a large-scale venue in a sales capacity
  • Proven track record of successful venue sales and business development
  • Established network within the business events industry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead and partner with sales and operational teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
