The Foundation is a private not-for-profit philanthropic organisation dedicated to supporting the activities of a renowned youth mental health research and treatment Centre. The Centre is widely recognised for its innovative mental health prevention and treatment programs targeting young Australians aged 5-25 years.

The Foundation has ambitious growth targets and a Board committed to furthering the Centre's work.

About the Role

This leadership position reports directly to the Centre Director and Chair, with a focus on growing and sustaining the Foundation's revenue. The Head of Philanthropy will explore high-net-worth individual relationships, additional funding opportunities, and raise the profile of the Centre's work.

The successful candidate will develop and implement a strategic plan to secure transformational gifts, ensuring a donor-centric approach and diversifying philanthropic support.

About You

You are an experienced philanthropy and major gift professional with a proven track record in relationship fundraising, pipeline development, and strategy. Your ability to build and maintain relationships with high-net-worth individuals will drive the growth of the Foundation.

Your strong organisational skills will support full relationship management of committed and generous donors. You are a self-starter, motivated, and driven to achieve excellent results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for the Foundation in collaboration with the Board Chair and Centre Director
  • Maintain close relationships with existing donors and cultivate new ones
  • Conduct prospect research and steward donors
  • Identify and pursue new funding opportunities across government and private sectors
  • Develop a bespoke donor acknowledgement and engagement strategy
  • Provide financial and pipeline development updates, including realistic forecasting
  • Meet and grow revenue targets
  • Amply the Centre's reputation and raise awareness of its work
