Child Welfare Specialist

The Specialist Harmful Sexual Behaviours Program is a specialist, trauma-safe and culturally safe response to children and young people who are displaying harmful sexual behaviours.
This program offers healing, support, counselling, and therapeutic responses; working holistically with all those around the child or young person.
Our team assists children and young people and adults to recover from the harmful impacts of trauma and supports families and communities in the healing process.
The Clinical Coordinator will be responsible for supervising the Counsellor and Aboriginal Outreach Support Worker positions for the Specialist HSB Program.
Key Qualifications- You will have knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people, and their families.
- Knowledge of, and experience in, working with children and young people who have been impacted by trauma, and those who display harmful sexual behaviours.
- A Masters level qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, Aboriginal Studies, or a related field with clinical experience is preferred. A combination of a relevant degree/certificate with Cultural knowledge and experience with Aboriginal healing practices will also be considered.
- Demonstrated capacity in working collaboratively within a team, and with internal and external stakeholders, to foster strong working relationships.
