Production Officer Job Description

The Water Resource Recovery team at Sydney Water operates and optimises 24/7 wastewater treatment facilities to achieve environmental, customer, and community outcomes in a safe and efficient manner.

This includes biosolids recovery, energy generation through cogeneration and hydro power, and residual management across 29 facilities.

We are seeking Production Officers Level 1 and Level 2 to join our Southern region operations at Kamay Hub (Malabar and Cronulla), Bondi Hub, and Georges River Hub (Glenfield, Liverpool, Fairfield).

As a Production Officer, you will be responsible for safely operating and maintaining wastewater treatment assets to meet statutory quality standards while meeting customer expectations and efficiency targets.

This role involves office and outdoor activities, working with diverse colleagues. You will receive formal and on-the-job training to prepare you for the position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safe operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment assets
  • Meeting statutory product quality standards and customer expectations
  • Efficiency target achievement
Requirements:
  • A current valid driver's license and own vehicle
  • Ability to commit to stand-by roster as per site requirements
  • Personal drive for continuous improvement and positive team culture
  • Experience in production, utilities, or asset maintenance environment
  • Good people skills and experience in coordinating internal and external service providers
  • Exposure to quality management systems (ISO)
