Advanced Surgical Specialist Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and driven professional to join our team in Western Australia and South Australia regions.


About This Role

The Surgical Specialist plays a key role in driving the adoption of surgical techniques and technologies that support national growth strategy. The SS Team is responsible for promoting surgical innovations, selecting and training surgeons, organising workshops, building relationships with local faculty and proctors, ensuring technology accessibility, engaging with industry stakeholders, collaborating with the wider field team, and uncovering multiple channels within the healthcare sector.


Main Responsibilities:
  • Promoting Surgical Innovations: Generate interest and facilitate the development of selected surgical techniques and technologies through various channels.
  • Surgeon Selection and Training: Identify and vet surgeons or candidates for training, ensuring successful product adoption within the surgical community.
  • Training and Workshops: Organise and facilitate training courses and workshops in collaboration with local faculty and proctors to enhance proficiency and knowledge of products.
  • Building Relationships: Identify, develop, and manage relationships with local faculty and proctors to strengthen network, brand, and support clinical adoption.
  • Technology Accessibility: Ensure that technologies are readily available and accessible to surgeons within relevant hospitals in targeted region, aligning with strategic growth initiatives and engaging with product evaluation committees and procurement teams.
  • Industry Engagement: Attend relevant society and third-party workshops and conferences to enhance visibility and strategically position offerings within market.
  • Collaboration: Work in conjunction with wider Applied Medical field team on special projects aimed at driving market adoption and growth across assigned specialties and areas of focus.
  • Uncovering Multiple Channels: Explore and leverage various channels within healthcare sector to raise consumer awareness and promote innovative surgical solutions.

What You Need To Succeed

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Collaborative mindset, excel in teamwork, and possess strong communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen with history of high performance and professionalism.
  • Proven history of sales and KPI performance and achievement.
  • Knowledge of laparoscopic surgical specialties and products.
  • Existing relationships within Operating Theatre landscape of region.
  • Knowledge of Australian and/or New Zealand healthcare systems and dynamics.
  • Passion for healthcare with zest and drive to create positive change.
  • Experience in planning and implementing clinical education and training.
  • Administrational skills pertaining to self-management in meeting organisational requirements and deadlines.
  • Ability to travel as required.
