We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Ecologist/Environmental Consultant to join our team at Anderson Environmental. As a casual Ecologist/Environmental Scientist, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including environmental consulting and conservation efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake field-based surveys, data analysis, and reporting, with a focus on environmental conservation and sustainability.
- Apply the NSW biodiversity planning framework, Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016, and BAM Plots to inform conservation efforts.
- Conduct ecological surveys, including the identification of vegetation communities in NSW.
- Develop and implement conservation plans, including ecological impact assessments, monitoring reports, and management plans.
- Collaborate with our team of professionals to achieve conservation goals and objectives.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including technical report writing and presentations.
- Travel to field locations and work outdoors, with a willingness to adapt to changing project requirements.
- Hold a full current NSW driver's licence and have a strong understanding of relevant NSW and Commonwealth environmental legislation and planning policies.
Requirements:
- A relevant Bachelor-level university degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, Botany, Zoology, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 3 years' practical experience in environmental consulting and conservation.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and conceptual skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and technical writing skills, with the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
