Our client, a leader and innovator in their field (data analytics and energy), have created a new position – Health & Safety Advisor, which will report to the HSE Lead (Australia).

As a small, close-knit safety team working out of the Sydney office, the Health & Safety Advisor will support the Lead in ensuring all Health and Safety systems are running smoothly and being communicated effectively across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining oversight of HSE risk registers and risk assessments
  • Taking a support role in the tender process for acquisition of new clients
  • Monthly HSE Reporting
  • Creating health and safety alerts and communicating to the business
  • Ensuring compliance with government regulations, legal requirements and ethical standards regarding quality assurance.
  • Provide advice, coaching and mentoring to staff
  • Create content for health and safety inductions and ensure these are delivered to employees and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with relevant legislative requirements
  • Communicating and consulting with workers to promote a healthy, safe workplace culture and reporting culture

You will have:

  • At least 3 years in a role with significant health & safety responsibilities
  • Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety are desirable
  • Effective written and oral communication skills including skills in negotiating, developing and managing cooperative working relationships
  • High level of reporting experience, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
  • Understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations, standards, and best practices
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments and implementing risk management strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate hazards in the workplace
