Job Title:
Senior Aboriginal Heritage ProfessionalWe are seeking a seasoned Senior Aboriginal Heritage Professional to lead our heritage projects in Newcastle. The successful candidate will possess extensive expertise in Aboriginal heritage management and conservation, combined with strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the delivery of heritage projects, including managing project teams, planning and execution of fieldwork, budget management, and ensuring timely completion of projects.
- Engage with clients to understand their project requirements, provide expert advice on heritage and archaeological matters, and develop tailored solutions that meet client needs while adhering to regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Foster effective stakeholder engagement with both internal and external stakeholders relevant to the role.
- Present technical findings and communicate information to non-technical individuals, including clients and community.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff, helping to develop their skills and expertise in heritage and archaeological management and consultancy.
Requirements:
- A degree in Cultural Heritage Management, Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10+ years of experience for the principal role and 5+ years for the Senior role.
- Preferably experience in a consultancy environment.
- Knowledge of relevant State and Commonwealth heritage legislation and associated regulations and guidelines, with experience in NSW highly regarded.
- Demonstrate leadership experience, including project management and team coordination.
- Interest and experience with client relationship management.
- An Australian Drivers licence (ideally with 4 WD experience).
