Our organisation seeks a seasoned Heritage Consultant to contribute to our heritage projects in Newcastle. We are a leading consultancy with extensive experience and nationwide presence.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee the delivery of heritage projects, manage project teams, plan and execute fieldwork, handle budgets and timelines, ensuring project objectives are met.
- Engage with clients to understand their requirements, provide expert advice on heritage and archaeological matters, and develop tailored solutions that meet client needs while adhering to regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Effectively engage with stakeholders relevant to the role.
- Present technical findings and communicate information to non-technical persons, including clients and community.
- Well-versed in heritage and archaeological legislation, regulations, and guidelines, applying this knowledge to assess significance, develop conservation strategies, and mitigate impacts on heritage and archaeological values.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff, helping them develop skills and expertise in heritage and archaeological management and consultancy.
- A degree in Cultural Heritage Management, Archaeology, Anthropology or related field.
- A minimum of 10+ years of experience for the Principal role and 5+ years for the Senior role.
- Preferably experience in a consultancy environment.
- Knowledge of relevant State and Commonwealth heritage legislation and associated regulations and guidelines, with experience in NSW highly regarded.
- Demonstrate leadership experience, including project management and team coordination.
- Australian Drivers license (ideally with 4WD experience).
