**Job Summary**

This role involves providing clerical support to assist in the efficient functioning of our service.

Duties will include general administrative tasks such as:

  • Reception duties for internal and external customers
  • Answering phone calls and directing them as required
  • Assisting in the management of patient files and liaising with Health Information Services
  • Verifying personal information of patients
  • Attending and minuting meetings as required
  • Sending letters/information as directed
  • Maintaining office policy and procedure manuals to ensure new information is communicated to all staff in a timely manner
  • Coordinating admissions and discharge paperwork
  • Liaising with other departments and scheduling appointments as required
  • Collecting and delivering mail to and from the mail area

The ideal candidate will have a mature attitude, flexible approach, eye for detail, excellent IT skills and customer focus.

They will also possess excellent communication and time management skills, familiarity with medical terminology in an administration or clinical position is an advantage.

Reliability and flexibility to work shifts in a 7 day a week roster is a key part of this role (including early and late shifts and one weekend per month).
