Client Overview

Our client is a leading provider of irrigation and water management services within the agricultural, dairy, and commercial industries. With over 30 years' experience, they provide a range of irrigation solutions from product selection and design to installation, service, and repair. Their expertise extends to designing, supplying, and installing irrigation systems across Tasmania, catering to hobby farmers and large-scale farms alike. Additionally, they offer mobile on-site servicing, repairs, and upgrades to existing irrigation systems.

Role Description

This role entails representing the customers' interests by ensuring the irrigation project is on track and that the customer is satisfied. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strong customer service and driving sales. This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading national irrigation provider, ideal for an experienced irrigation sales specialist or someone with good interpersonal skills keen to learn irrigation design and carve out a long-term career in the industry. Candidates with a farming or agricultural background, or those with experience in rural merchandise sales or agronomy, are equally suited for this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactive lead generation and customer contact, including site visits as required.
  • Attend to branch customer and sales, service, and project enquiries.
  • Liaise with customers, contractors, suppliers, and other parties as necessary.
  • Adhere to and exceed budget and KPI expectations.
Requirements
  • A successful track record in irrigation sales, new business development, or a similar agricultural field.
  • Project Management skills, with irrigation sales and design experience within the Tasmanian region (preferred but not essential).
  • A passion for driving, delivering, and overachieving on new business sales targets.
  • Excellent communication, relationship building, and interpersonal skills.
  • A valid driver's license and sound computer literacy.
  • A desire to grow and develop a long-standing career within the business.
Remuneration and Location
Remuneration will be commensurate with experience, with a target salary within the range of $60k to $90k (some flexibility) plus superannuation and vehicle, plus an excellent bonus scheme. The role is located at Longford in the northern midlands of beautiful Tasmania.
