Digital Collections Analyst

The Digital Collections Analyst works within the Digital Curation team to develop and support workflows and processes for the acquisition and ongoing stewardship of born-digital collection material across the Library.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Digital Collection Policies
Collaboratively develop policies, guidelines, business rules, processes and procedures for acquiring, managing, preserving and providing access to digital collection material and prepare reports, briefings, issues papers and statistics to inform decision making.
Support Digital Collection AcquisitionProviding direct support to Library staff for the acquisition of born-digital material, including liaising with suppliers/owners of digital material and ensuring born-digital acquisitions meet appropriate specifications and guidelines.
Prepare Digital Collections for PreservationPreparing born-digital material for ingestion into the digital preservation system and troubleshooting and monitoring ingestion of these assets to meet regular workflow cycles and agreed deadlines.
Test and Support Digital Curation EquipmentTest, document, and support the use of equipment and software for digital curation activities in the Digital Preservation Lab.
Communicate Digital Preservation KnowledgeAssist the Lead Digital Archivist in communicating knowledge and the importance of digital preservation through training and workshops, ensuring all staff have sufficient knowledge relevant to their roles to enable the Library to develop and maintain robust digital collections.
About You- International Standards and Best Practices
Applied knowledge of international standards and best practice relating to preservation of digital materials in a library or archive environment including metadata, file formats and technical specifications.
Collection Management Systems and Digital PreservationExperience in the use of collection management systems, web-based technologies and databases for ongoing stewardship of born-digital collections.
Software Tools and Digital Preservation WorkflowsCapacity to work effectively with software tools used in digital preservation workflows.
Relevant Qualifications and ExperienceRelevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience managing born-digital collections.
