Our client is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant / Paralegal to join their team in Canning Vale for a 1-3 months' assignment with a possible extension.

PERSOLKELLY specialises in the recruitment of Professional, ICT, Government, STEM, Management and Executive talent. We are partnering with our client in seeking an experienced Legal Assistant / Paralegal to join their Canning Vale team.

This role will be a 1 -3 months' assignment with a possibility of extension, offering full time hours and an immediate start.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct meetings with clients and lawyers, effectively communicating and interacting to understand their needs and requirements.
  • Provide support to lawyers by taking instructions and assisting in various legal tasks.
  • Draft court documents, legal documents, correspondence, and other relevant materials with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Assist in managing and organising lawyer's files, ensuring all necessary documents are properly maintained and easily accessible.
  • Perform typing tasks, including transcribing dictations, preparing legal documents, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Manage diaries and schedules for lawyers, ensuring appointments, meetings, and deadlines are properly coordinated and prioritized.
  • Maintain file management systems, including organizing and categorizing documents, ensuring efficient retrieval and storage.
  • Collate and organise documentation for legal cases, ensuring all relevant materials are compiled and readily available.
  • Record and track time spent on various tasks and assist with billing processes as required.
  • Manage workflow effectively to ensure all deadlines are met and tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Provide general administrative assistance to the team, contributing to the smooth running of day-to-day office operations.
  • Undertake ad hoc tasks as required, demonstrating flexibility and willingness to support the team in various capacities.

Requirements

  • Experience within a Paralegal / Legal Secretary position
  • Handle confidential information professionally & with discretion
  • Intermediate skills in MS Suite - Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Excellent communication skills - Written & Verbal
  • Be punctual, dependable and well organised with day-to-day tasks
  • Sound knowledge of legal terminology and principles
