Accelerate Australia's Transition to Renewable Energy

This role involves driving a commercial strategy for renewable energy and originating long-term revenue agreements for renewable and firmed energy products.

The successful applicant will join an organization in its mission to accelerate Australia's transition to a future powered by renewable energy. As a senior commercial leader, they will drive the organization's energy contracting strategy and originate long-term revenue agreements.

Originate Long-Term Revenue Agreements

  • Identify, build, and maintain deep relationships with senior leaders across large energy users, electricity retailers, and intermediaries to create a strong pipeline of opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain a national buyer network to support project commercialization and market expansion.
  • Own the end-to-end contracting process, including deal structuring, pricing, negotiation, and execution.

Collaborate Cross-Functionally

  • Cross-functionally collaborate with internal stakeholders across project development, investment, legal, technical, and energy markets to align on deal parameters and risk positions.
  • Lead the development of commercial offer materials, term sheets, and contract documentation.
  • Monitor energy market trends, regulatory developments, and customer demand to refine origination strategy and commercial offerings.

Key Qualifications

  • At least 8 years of experience in energy contract origination, corporate PPA negotiation, or structured energy product sales.
  • A demonstrated track record of closing complex commercial energy transactions with large buyers or retailers.
  • A proven ability to develop and maintain deep, senior-level relationships across the Australian energy landscape.
  • A deep understanding of electricity markets, renewable energy projects, and contract structures.
  • A well-established network in the Australian energy market with strong commercial relationships across the buyer landscape.
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to translate market insights into actionable commercial strategies.
  • Strong financial acumen and the ability to evaluate and articulate risk/return profiles of various deal structures.
