About the role:

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Equipment Specialist to join our team onsite at Bulwer Island. The successful candidate will take a lead role in the maintenance and operation of ball mills, slag drier, dispatch and wharf operations, including the ship unloader, and perform preventative maintenance activities to ensure reliable and safe equipment operation.

This position involves:

  • Ensuring compliance with Cement Australia's SHEQ policies and guidelines
  • Performing reactive and preventative maintenance tasks such as PMR inspections, electrical troubleshooting, v-belt replacement, conveyor tracking, bucket elevator tracking, dust collector fault finding, and supervision of contractors as required
  • Safely and efficiently operating site equipment: ship unloader and loader, ball mills and auxiliary equipment, slag dryer, raw material unloading/reclaiming system, finished product despatch system, and yellow machines
  • Supervising production and maintenance contractors as required, including issuing Permits for Work and reviewing Risk Assessments
  • Using SAP to raise notifications and work orders for planned and unplanned maintenance works
  • Assisting with shutdown and general maintenance planning
  • Raising purchase requisitions for equipment repairs and parts required for repair
  • QC testing of all products produced on site to ensure quality targets are met

A competitive salary package is offered, estimated to be around $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additional benefits include full uniforms and PPE supplied, rotating roster for a good work/life balance, overtime opportunities available, paid training days, and a shift allowance.

About you:

  • Previous heavy industry experience is essential
  • Trade qualifications (Mechanical or Electrical) are advantageous
  • EWP Licence, Confined Space, Working at Heights tickets are required
  • LVR Training is desirable
  • Prior knowledge of SCADA systems, including trend analysis for fault finding and plant/equipment operation, is advantageous
  • Bobcat and Loader experience is beneficial
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills are necessary
  • A positive approach to continuous improvement and upgrades is expected
  • Fault finding and problem-solving skills are crucial
  • Familiarity with small hand and power tools is required
