Project Manager - Switchboard Manufacturing Projects

About the Job:

  • We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team in Brisbane, Queensland.
  • The successful candidate will take ownership of multiple manufacturing projects from concept to delivery, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and with quality.

The Opportunity

  • As a Project Manager – Switchboards, you will have both technical and commercial control of projects, from detailed engineering and procurement to factory build oversight, contracts administration, and financial management.

Responsibilities

  • Project Planning & Delivery
  • Manage multiple projects through the full engineering cycle.
  • Oversee and review detailed electrical engineering designs for switchboards, kiosks, switchrooms, and distribution boards.
  • Prepare and maintain project schedules, ensuring critical milestones are met.
  • Monitor and track progress, proactively resolving delays or issues.
  • Technical & Quality Oversight
  • Liaise closely with the production team to ensure products are manufactured to specification and quality standards.
  • Provide technical input during design and manufacturing stages.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Australian Standards and client specifications.
  • Procurement & Resource Management
  • Source equipment and materials using a best product–best price approach.
  • Manage supplier relationships, ensuring timely delivery of goods.
  • Contracts & Financial Management
  • Oversee contracts administration and manage variations.
  • Control budgets, monitor project costs, and conduct accurate financial forecasting.
  • Report regularly to management on project status and profitability.
  • Client & Stakeholder Management
  • Maintain strong, professional relationships with clients, consultants, and suppliers.
  • Represent the business in project meetings, site visits, and technical discussions.
  • Provide clear and timely communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Skills and Qualifications
  • Relevant degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management, preferably in the electrical industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems and switchboards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
