Staff Specialist in Gastroenterology Role

Salary and Benefits:We offer a competitive salary range of $216,300 - $310,389 per annum, pro rata, plus 11.5% superannuation. In addition, you may be eligible for various allowances, including a fully maintained private plated motor vehicle or motor vehicle allowance of $25,758 per annum, and Continuing Professional Development Allowance of $16,480 per annum.
Job Responsibilities:As a Senior Staff Specialist, you will provide specialist care to public and private patients, participate in research and quality improvement activities, and engage in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. You will also provide specialist advice to inpatient units as required.
Our Gastroenterology Department at Launceston General Hospital serves as the tertiary-referral hospital for Northern Tasmania. The team comprises five visiting Gastroenterologists, an Advanced Gastroenterology trainee, Unaccredited trainee, BPT, and JMO/Intern.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver high-quality patient care to individuals with gastrointestinal disorders
- Contribute to research and quality improvement initiatives to enhance gastroenterology services
- Teach and mentor future medical professionals through undergraduate and postgraduate programs
- Offer specialist advice to inpatient units as needed
**Essential Criteria:**
To succeed in this position, you must meet the following essential criteria:
- Hold a current registration as a Medical Practitioner
- Have a recognized overseas specialist qualification and sufficient experience in the specialty
