
Senior Electronics Patent Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Patent Expert to join our team in Melbourne. In this role, you will work with clients to protect cutting-edge technologies and develop IP protection strategies tailored to their commercial objectives.
As a member of our Electronics, Physics & I.T. (EPIT) team, you will be responsible for:
- Drafting and prosecuting patent applications in Australia and internationally,
- Preparing high-quality written and verbal IP advice in a timely manner,
- Managing intellectual property portfolios for local and international clients,
- Developing and executing IP strategies tailored to client needs,
- Preparing and delivering IP-related articles and presentations internally and externally,
- Participating in networking events, seminars, and business development activities.

Requirements- A registered Australian or New Zealand patent attorney degree qualified in electrical or electronics engineering, computer systems engineering, mechatronics engineering, information and communications technology (ICT), physics, quantum computing, software engineering, or a related technical field.
- 1-3 years post-registration experience as a Patent Attorney.
- Experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the above technical fields.
- Experience managing IP portfolios and developing IP strategies for Australian and international applicants.
- A client-focused approach and ability to build strong professional relationships.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional technical knowledge.
- An eye for detail, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced computer skills and database researching skills.
- Highly organized and responsible with experience prioritizing and working to deadlines.
- A positive attitude with a collaborative and innovative mindset.
